Rotherham 2 - 3 Huddersfield
League 1
20-02-2007

Rotherham are really, really, really bad.

I know we've had our moments over the past few months but I don't think we've ever sunk quite as low as Rotherham did last night. They were up against 10 men for the majority of the game but (credit to us) we were still finding space and had 2 clear cut chances which should've put the game completely beyond them.

Impossible to tell whether it was handball from the angle we were at but it certainly didn't look like a deliberate attempt to prevent a goal if it was, more like self defence. As Andy '3-0 defeat' Mullins said at the time, Holdsworth probably didn't help his cause by laying on the ground as if he'd been struck in the face, it suggested he did have something to hide.

The first half was poor. Great work to take the lead but we never looked like adding to it for the remaining 43 minutes, even when we had 11 men on the field. Second half we fully deserved the victory. I can't recall Brandon having a better game for Town.

However, there were a few negatives -

* Taylor looks lightweight and out of his depth.
* Sinclair had several dodgy moments.
* The discipline is as poor as ever - GTF needlessly shoving their player could've seen red and Brandon also got involved in some handbags. Both incidents toward the end of the game when a second red would almost certainly have cost us the points.
* Glennon's kicking was abysmal at times.
* £20 - for a League One game at Millmoor?!

Saturday's result should've put an end to any play-off talk. Last night's result should put an end to any lingering relegation worries. So, with the season practically over for us, it's time to watch the Leeds and Bradford fans squirm ;-) ... and there's always the question of whether midtable will be good enough for Jackson to keep his job.
