Huddersfield 2 - 3 Cheltenham
League 1

Couple of noticeable things from Saturday.

Kamara's apparent unwillingness to race down the wing for balls to run onto isn't the drawback I thought it was. To give him the benefit of the doubt he seems to have realised that racing down the wing to knock a cross in when Booth and Beckett are up front is a waste of his time and energy. They simply can't keep up. When he runs from deep and knocks a cross in they tend to be dangerous. For him to do this effectively and consistently he needs an overlapping full back behind him. This brings me to point 2.

Mr Ritchie, your experiment of playing Holdsworth in midfield must end now. He isn't up to it. He is a better full back than Hardy and he overlaps. Return him there at once please. Hardy is unwilling to overlap Kamara, thus limiting our options further forward. Holdsworth's inability to truly tackle and his inability to play short balls well are too much of a liability in the midfield. Perversely he is still one of our better long passers of the ball and Kamara and him could dovetail into a good pairing (or Sinclair if he gets back).

Keogh looked dodgy I agree but also put in some useful challenges. IF he'd been an academy player we'd have been more forgiving - but such is life. We need Clarke or Sinclair back asap.

Glennon played well. Saved two one on ones and showed good anticipation to break other attacks up on the edge of his area showed his moistake last week hasn't knocked his confifdence. Vaesen made similar mistakes just as regulalrly yet he is feted.

Brandon showed some nice touches but still lacks the discipline to protect Skarz fully.

Collins needs a proper midfielder alongside him to take the weight of his shoulders.

If Cadamateri is out much longer I'd be tempted to go 4-2-3-1 with Beckett up front on his own but a midfield 3 containing Kamar, Schofield and Brandon playing just behind him. Collins and Worthington as the holding 2 but Collins having licence to push further forward. Skarz, Mirfin, Clarke/Sinclair and Holdsworth/Sinclair as the back 4.

Do we have timescales for the return of Williams, Clarke(s), Sinclair and Worhtington?

We still need to address the following areas. Cover at full back (assuming Holdsworth and Skarz are first choice we will perhaps have Williams and Sinclair when everyone is fit). Cover at centre half (or will Tom Clarke be fourth choice there? Cover in central midfield. We have only two in Worthington and Collins - nobody else has shown any real ability there. Some pace up front.

Other than that everyithing looks ok ;-)

It was an etnertainign game that I quite enjoyed. We had enough chances to win and made enough mistakes to lose. Fair enough - as long as we win as many as we lose we'll be OK.
